Talking With Heroes
About us
bob calvert
Mr. Robert “Bob” Calvert spent most of his professional career as an independent contractor and business owner with a focus in distribution and known network marketing. Calvert has been a longtime supporter of American servicemembers, but his passion to do more for them was ignited in 2005, after Soldiers at Ft Riley and Ft Bragg suggested that he start a talk show giving military a voice to share their stories.
Our Mission
TalkingwithHeroes.com was created in December 2005, by founder Bob Calvert through the support of his 501 C3 non-profit organization. Thankyouforyourservice.com. Our mission is to garner support for servicemembers and first responders by informing our audiences about the lives, hardships, successes, and unique abilities of the American military service member. We accomplish this through the production of broadcast interviews and our various community relations events including our five trips to Iraq during Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF) and three trips to Afghanistan during Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF). While on these trips we were able to embed with military units and gathered thousands of hours of raw footage/BRoll while interacting with both military troops and local nationals.
To ensure that we tell a well-rounded, in-depth story, we are proud to report that we have spent countless hours with Veterans, Gold Star Families, a variety of military and Veterans support groups, and companies who provide support our Servicemembers.
WHY WE DO IT
- Supporting the entire military community, including active duty, veterans, military spouses, and other supporting agencies is vital to reduce PTSD, TBI, Veterans, homelessness, suicide prevention, and a variety of other military service related issues.
SUCCESSES
- As of Mar. 18, 2024, TalkingwithHeroes.com had successfully created and uploaded over 500 videos of unedited footage with nearly 500 views. As of April 2004, over 618,935 people had viewed our videos. Many of our videos also highlight incredible Americans who do their best to support those who currently serve and have served in the military, their support groups, and commercial companies.
What's Next?
Features to start, sell & grow
Though extremely dedicated to our mission, our founder, Bob Calvert has been facing his own battle with 7 surgeries, stage 4 cancer for more than 5 years, a condition worsened by Long Haul Covid, which has added memory loss and breathing to his daily challenges, and rib damage from being passenger in a car in 2023. Calvert is more committed than ever to see this mission continue to educate and save lives, which makes fundraising essential to its success. Should funds not be raised, we will need to find another passionate individual or company who feels led to take it over our important mission. Calvert has been planning for the transition to a new team of Veterans who he hopes will make their own Legacies. The new Leadership Team will collectively take TalkingwithHeroes.com and our sister project, ThankYouforYourService.com moving forward and continue to expand the mission and support American troops for decades to come. Once this team is fully operational, Calvert plans to work together to assist in the expansion for as long as his health will allow.
The dream is for TalkingwithHeroes.com to relaunch as America’s newest National Media Network. Specifically, Active-duty service members, Veterans, First Responders, Families will be featured on our various podcasts, talk show programs and new videos focused on suicide, PTSD and TBI prevention. Support groups, executives or medical providers from across the country will register their organization and then choose which categories they would like to be featured on. Ultimately helping supporters collaborate and expand our reach. We’re excited to see what the future holds! Stay tuned for more!
