About (Ret) (Colonel) John DiPiero

John is a 29-year veteran of the Air Force and Texas resident for many years.  During his Air Force career, he spent most of his time in the training and education business.  He was a pilot and amassed over 3,500 hours in both helicopter and fixed wing jet aircraft and retired in the rank of colonel.

Upon retirement in 2000, he spent two years as the commandant of cadets at a military academy in Virginia, Randolph-Macon Academy.

He moved back to San Antonio in 2002 and began his career at USAA in military marketing. He then moved to military recruiting as a talent management senior program manager, responsible for reaching out to the military community, to include spouses, ensuring candidates know USAA is a military friendly employer for both veterans and actively serving Guard and Reserve members.

His next move was to Corporate Communications where he was a senior communications partner focused on influencer engagement in the veteran and spouse transition space.

He is now a director in Military Affairs as part of the Military Advocacy Group, focused on USAA’s efforts to support all veterans and spouses as they transition into the civilian community.

He also serves as a volunteer for the Texas Veterans Commission Subcommittee on Employment and Training.

John received his undergraduate degree from Southwest Texas State University (now Texas State) and his masters from the University of Oklahoma.  He attended numerous military schools, including Squadron Officer School, Air Command and Staff College, Air War College and numerous flying training programs in a number of different aircraft.

USAA’s Military Affairs team is comprised of retired officers and senior noncommissioned officers who dedicate themselves as advocates for those who are currently serving in our military, all those who have honorably served in the past and their families.

Our team of professionals represents each of their services as well as the nation’s Guard and Reserve forces and are responsible for creating and sustaining relationships between USAA, our strategic partners, military leaders and military-related organizations so USAA can engage, serve and advocate for the military community.

“My focus at USAA is to connect with organizations to learn more about their veteran and spouse hiring and onboarding programs and to model with one another based on our shared experience and lessons learned.”

About USAA Military Affairs Team

At USAA, we are passionate advocates for military members and their families. The same core values that guide our military inspire USAA employees to go above and beyond for our members each and every day. So it should come as no surprise that our members and employees share a strong and lifelong bond based on the military experiences and values we have in common.

At USAA, we understand that bond better than anyone else. We have built a team of military leaders who deepen and strengthen that bond day in and day out. USAA’s Military Affairs team is comprised of retired officers and senior noncommissioned officers who dedicate themselves as advocates for those who are currently serving in our military, all those who have honorably served in the past and their families.

This team of professionals represents each of their services as well as the nation’s Guard and Reserve forces and are responsible for creating and sustaining relationships between USAA, our strategic partners, military leaders and military-related organizations so USAA can engage, serve and advocate for the military community. They know what it means to serve so USAA can better connect with and support our military members.

About America’s Warrior Partnership

www.americaswarriorpartnership.org

As a 501(c)(3) organization, the Board of Directors and executive leadership of America’s Warrior Partnership is committed to transparency. Our policies and procedures ensure that the organization’s financial and operational practices meet and exceed nonprofit industry standards.

Empowering Communities to Empower Veterans

America’s Warrior Partnership is committed to empowering communities to empower veterans. We fill the gaps that exist between current veteran service organizations by helping nonprofits connect with the veterans, military members and families in need: bolstering their efficacy, improving their results and empowering their initiatives.

America’s Warrior Partnership is a force multiplier for warrior community integration that enhances communities where great Americans choose to live and contribute.

From city to city and town to town across America, there is no one organization or platform in place to ensure each unique veteran is fully and holistically supported. Each city, county and state is different; some are equipped to handle the return of hundreds and thousands of post-service veterans. In most places, however, scattered services are provided by disconnected agencies.

America’s Warrior Partnership is the connection that brings local veteran-centric nonprofits together through coordination and collaboration, ensuring consistent information is obtained and relevant services are provided. We attack inefficiency and amplify the work of established nonprofits and government agencies.

America’s Warrior Partnership brings the necessary and unifying resources to communities and makes it easier for the men and women who served our nation to lead the lives they deserve.

A Solutions Based Organization
