GUESTS:
Deborah Tainsh, Step Mom to a Fallen Hero Sgt Patrick Tainsh
Deborah Tainsh’s step-son, U. S. Army Sgt. Patrick Tainsh, was killed by a roadside bomb in Iraq on February 11, 2004. Writing initially to sort out her own grief, Deborah captured the raw and tender moments of her family’s sorrow and remembrance. Her book Heart of a Hawk: One family’s sacrifice and journey toward healing brings readers into the Tainsh family’s living room as Deborah and her husband, USMC Sgt.Major (Ret) David L. Tainsh, hear the tragic news of their son’s death and begin their struggle to toward acceptance and peace.
A portion of all proceeds from Heart of a Hawk is donated to the Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors. As a TAPS mentor, Deborah talks with military families across the nation, sharing her family's continuing journey of grief, love, and hope while celebrating a son's courageous life with the message that "our children expect no less courage and giving from us than what they showed the world."
Heart of a Hawk received the Spirit of Freedom Award from Military Writers Society of America. Deborah’s poems are included in the National Endowment for the Arts archives of Operation Homecoming: Writing the Wartime Experience. She has written for several publications, including TAPS magazine, Marines’ Memorial Crossroads Magazine, and Military.com.
Deb and her husband Dave recently met with President Bush along with other Gold Star Families at Ft Benning.

Mitch English
www.thedailybuzz.tv
Often called the "spark plug" of The Daily Buzz, Mitch English has been with the show since Day 1. He's been married for 15 years and is the proud Father of four children; three boys and one girl. He started his career in broadcasting in 1991 and has been making people laugh ever since, however, he's serious when it comes to weather. Mitch studied Broadcast Meteorology at Mississippi State University and is a member of the National Weather Association and a Associate Member of American Meteorological Society. Mitch also works as a fill-in weatherman for WCBS-TV in New York City..
Before coming to TDB, Mitch was Host and Producer of WB AM, a 2 1/2 hour morning television show at KUWB-TV in Salt Lake City, Utah. He also served as the station's main Weather Anchor. Before that, he served as the Senior Weather Anchor for WTVY-TV in Dothan, Alabama and Panama City, Florida, overlooking the Weather department and even covered a few hurricanes for several major news networks. Mitch has also worked for several radio stations in his career.
Cool Stuff An actor, stand-up comedian, weatherman and more all rolled in one. You might have seen Mitch in movies or doing other stuff on TV, including a couple of Disney films or on a old episode of Touched By An Angel. He claims they made his hair look bad on purpose, but we're not convinced. If you haven't seen him on the big screen, catch Mitch on stage while he's doing his stand-up act. He performs all over the country. Please book him in your town, it gets him off our hands for a few nights.
