 ABOUT US

Our involvement in supporting our troops and their families began like many support the troops groups and campaigns have started. About 5 years ago my daughter surprised me at 18 years old by telling me that she was thinking of enlisting in the National Guard. A short time later I found myself in the Army Recruiting Office in Kansas City with Adrienne and her then (now husband) boyfriend who had already enlisted.

I could not have been more proud of her as she graduated from Basic Training at Ft Leonardwood, Missouri. I found myself living near them by Ft Riley about a year later. My life has not been the same since. She is no longer in the Army but her husband recently returned from his second deployment. This second deployment was from Ft Carson. He was in Mosul with thousands of other soldiers for 15 months.

In late 2005 a suggestion was made to me that I start a talk show program to give our military personnel a forum to share their mostly untold stories of helping the people in the countries and areas in which they serve. In Dec. 2005 we began the talk show that airied  on Sunday nights on the www.StardustRadio.Com Internet Radio Network. We are now on http://www.talkshoe.com/tc/19487 We have over 90 programs on this network in archives that can be listened to 24/7.

Talking with Heroes is not about politics. Our program is about helping, honoring, supporting our men and women in the military and their families. Our goal is to give our military personnel an opportunity to share their mostly untold stories about the work they are doing worldwide. We believe that the American people have a right to hear these positive stories and our military personnel have a right to have their stories heard by all Americans.

On our third trip to Iraq we filmed and interviewed men and women from our Army, Marines, Navy, National Guard, Air Force, Army Corp of Engineers and Iraqis on progress in Iraq. We are inviting individuals, corporations, ministries, organizations to let others know about these interviews. We are also seeking advertisers to help us get the word out to millions across the country.

Talking with Heroes is a voice for our military, their families and those who support them. We share first-hand accounts straight from personal interviews with the men and women serving in our nation’s Armed Forces. These men and women are helping people worldwide, and that includes our own citizens’ right here at home in the USA.

We broadcast LIVE Sunday Nights on the stardustradio.net internet radio network at 7pm CST. Our guests include men and women in our military who share their experiences, leaders from military support and veterans groups, ministries, companies, entertainers and others who help and support our troops and their families back home.

Previous guests include Sgt Darrin Domko, 1Lt Douglas Rapp with the Indiana National Guard, LTJG Becky Ramos, Major Nico Marcolongo, MSGT John Ubaldi, Marine Capt. Stephen Jaksec, Col John Folsom with www.WoundedWarriors,Org, CW5 Paul Holton with www.operationgive.org, Matthew Zimmerman, Military Chaplain at New Life Church in Colorado Springs, Col. Gleason of Offutt Air Force Base, Col Barlow from the Air Force Academy, MSGT Craig Colton at Dyess AFB, Major General Mixon recently retired from Ft. Carson, Major General Graham and his wife Carol Graham and many more. We have interviewed wounded Marines based out of Camp Lejeune, NC and in San Antonio, TX. We have had call ins from Iraq from National Guard, Army, Air Force and Marine personnel talking about progress in the areas they serve in.

Iraq: The First Tour - In October, 2006, we went to Iraq to interview some of our brave men and women serving there at the time. They talked about what they did on a daily basis to help the people in Iraq. One of the talk shows in Iraq took place during the grand opening of a school located in an Iraqi town. This school was opened because of over 10 months of hard work by the National Guard, as well as help from families back in the USA. We had the privilege to spend time with one of our MITT (Military Transition Teams) that had been working with an Iraqi Army Battalion. We witnessed, first hand, the progress being made with their training.

Iraq: The Second Tour - We went to Iraq for a longer period of time in January, 2007. Jim Martin, CEO of Altitude Sports and Entertainment Cable Company based out of Denver, Colorado went with me this second time. We interviewed military personnel from the Air Force, the Marine Corps, and Minnesota National Guard, as well as an Iraqi Air Force General and other Iraqi citizens. It is clear from what we saw and heard in the areas we visited that the training being given to the Iraqi military by our troops is effective.

2007 Talking with Heroes: On the Road Tour - Talking with Heroes went on the road this spring. The show aired live broadcasts in Grand Forks, North Dakota, Woodbury, Minnesota, Lexington, Kentucky, Colorado Springs, Southern California, San Antonio, Abilene, TX, Ballwin, MO and Columbus, GA.

We interview our military heroes and bring attention to local support groups that are leading the way in support for our military and their families. Advertisers have high visibility in their communities and to all who listen on the internet.

Iraq: The Third Trip – We went back to Iraq Aug 17th - Sept. 2, 2007. We were with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and Soldiers from North Dakota National Guard in Baghdad. We visited a Children Hospital. We went to the Baghdad Airport on the domestic side, visited two buildings under construction in Baghdad that will provide communications services and a Post Office for the people of Baghdad. Near Falluja we visited a new Water Treatment Plant and interviewed two Iraqis. We were in Eastern Baghdad with units with the 2ID/2BCT from Ft Carson in Colorado Springs. We went on convoys and heard more about progress.

We were with Marines in Camp Al Taqaddum in the Anbar Province for the second time in a year. We met with the same Principal with the Marines in Tourist Town near Camp Al Taqaddum and taped his progress report. We interviewed Iraqis there and in other areas. We have all of this on audio and on film. These will air on the internet, on Altitude Sports and Entertainment, a 10-State Regional Cable Network and on DVD’s.

With the help of many across America we will get these stories out across America. Our troops are glad to know that finally America is going to hear as Paul Harvey has said for years “the other side of the story”.

All of our Iraq Interviews from our third trip are now in their own 3rd Iraq Tour Programs  Schedule Section.

We also have DVD's of all these programs.

Eleven Nine Minute Video Clips from different places in Iraq can now be seen at: www.myfbn.com  channel 4. Episodes 1-12

We talk with people from all political perspectives, but what the listeners all have in common is that they agree we need to support our troops and their families. They also agree that we, as Americans, have a right to know about the many positive things happening in the “war on terror” and that much progress continues to be made in the Middle East.

Our Advertising Program - Advertisements are good for one calendar year. Among other benefits, our advertisers gain high visibility on our website. TEXT Advertismernts start at $25 per year.  Small Image/Text Advertisements start at $100 per year. BANNER Advertisements  start at $500. In addition to the web page listings, BANNER Advertisers are thanked on one talk show per $500, just like PBS has been doing for years.

The internet audience will hear these programs on our Sunday night program and can also download programs 24 hours a day and seven days a week in our archives. BANNER Advertisers are also thanked on the talk show page of their choice. The Talk Show pages are where everybody has to go to listen to the talk shows month after month. BANNER Advertisers have their banner in our Banner rotation on the home page and other web pages in our site as well as in the Banner Scrolling sections. All listings stay on our site for a year or more.

We are seeking corporate, organization or individual advertisers to help us get the word out about our important third trip to Iraq. We are also planning our 4th trip to Iraq and 1st to Afghanistan.

We are told that by leaving politics out of our programs that it is more likely that millions of Americans from all political backgrounds will be open to participating in this grass roots campaign to support our troops and their families. There are many who need help and support. There are many stories to share. This is a project where we can unite as a people. We can collectively do more to help support our troops and their families and we can together help get these mostly untold stories out quicker to millions of Americans.

Our troops in Iraq, our civilians and Iraqis are depending on us to help get their messages out to millions of people this time. We need help!
