Barbara Oldham

Barbara Oldham grew up in Kearny, NJ and Sarasota, FL. Her extensive education includes a B.S. degree in Psychology from the University of South Florida, a Paralegal degree.  Prior to starting a family, she was previously pursuing her MBA from the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs Online and is now currently pursuing her M.S. degree in Clinical Psychology from Capella University Online.

After working for many years in the corporate world for companies such as Dow Jones, Samsung, and American Express Global Financial Markets, Barbara raised her two sons Daniel, 9 and Michael, 7 and decided to find a career that allowed her the flexibility to raise her sons.

After working for several years as a Case Manager, working with clients who had substance abuse health issues, Barbara and her partners started their own agency, Family Behavior Services in May 2009. The agency specializes in Targeted Case Management for individuals with mental health and Substance Abuse issues. Barbara likes to admit that it is at the same time a very rewarding yet challenging career to work with others and making a difference in their lives. Currently, Family Behavior Services has 4 locations: Homestead, FL, Hallandale Beach, FL, Topeka, KS and Boonton, NJ with plans for future expansion throughout the US.

In early 2011, Barbara started her very own charity – Caring for Our Own US Troops and Family Coalition after friends of hers were deployed to Afghanistan. This charity has enabled Barbara to meet and partner with Bob Calvert, founder of Talking With Heroes as well as Thank You For Your Service and has been featured on the Howard Keeting talk show, thanks to Bob, several times. Barbara has adopted several soldiers in different military units over the past year and has bonded with several soldiers during this time.

CFOO has started a program with Girl Scouts of Southeast Florida, where the troop adopts soldiers serving in Iraq and Afghanistan. Activities include the girls in the troop writing to soldiers, making crafts for them and sending care packages. Ultimately, she hopes to take this project to the national level.

Barbara's most recent endeavor is Kansas Parenting, a family based magazine intended solely for parents/caregivers and children in the state of Kansas with hopes of launching similar publications in other states as well. It is a work in progress and Barbara and her partners are looking forward to its launch later in 2012.

Barbara currently resides in Homestead, FL with her sons, Michael and Daniel and they are planning to relocate to Wamego, KS in mid 2012.
